The 7 Deadly Sins: Gluttony
"Compulsive and addictive behaviors serve no Satanist, and will surely lead to her eventual demise. Indulgence in the Satanist’s drink, smoke, or meal of choice, however, are the spice of life."
Welcome back!
If you haven't read yesterday's entry yet, you can read it here. As promised, today we move on from the sin of lust, and onto the next sin out of seven as we explore Josephus's The 7 Deadly Sins, and that is the sin of, my personal favorite, gluttony. Of course, Satanists believe in indulgence, not abstinence! That is why we proudly and happily indulge in all seven of the Christian sins, for indulgence is the only way to true gratification and fulfillment. We hope that after we have shared all seven sins with you, that you will join us in indulging too!
A Pagan friend of mine loves Thanksgiving. She calls it “a great excuse to enjoy the sin of gluttony”. One of the biggest pieces of evidence to prove that we are in fact living in a truly Satanic Age, is the seemingly endless amount of food television channels, cooking shows and apps that are available to us. Even when we want to watch a different show, or we are waiting for the next one to begin, commercials of people of all colors, gender, ages and sizes fill our screens as they unabashedly delight in food and drink.
Though it is a Satanic Age, it is also unfortunately an obese one, and modern society is ripe with idiots that mistake compulsion for indulgence. Hence, an epidemic of obesity. Just as people hurt themselves by compulsive eating, some do it by compulsive drinking and smoking, and others do it through compulsive fucking – I am not ashamed to use the sweet, honest, bawdy F-word. The Satanist is mindful in her actions, and careful to not mistake compulsion for indulgence.
The Satanist delights in gluttony, for it helps make her life on earth- her only life, period- an indulgence par excellence. Whether she is vegetarian or carnivore, or even if health concerns restrict her to a special diet, she unabashedly delights in the tastes, colors and textures of all cuisines.
If she loves fine wine, good whisky, or beer, she does so with a full heart. She does not drink to a stupor, unless when a quick escape from pain may be needed, though in the case of the self -aware, self-worshiping Satanist, these circumstances should be very few and far in between.
The Satanist knows that there is a difference between indulgence, and compulsion. Compulsive and addictive behaviors serve no Satanist, and will surely lead to her eventual demise. Indulgence in the Satanist’s drink, smoke, or meal of choice, however, are the spice of life.
When she smokes, regardless of what she is smoking, she does so with full, adult awareness of both the pleasures and the risks of her choice, and she does it with wise restraint. She delights in her cigarette, pipe, bong, or vape with self-restraint and respect.
Regardless of whether her meals are cooked for herself, her mate, her young, or her friends, she applies the same diligence and imagination as she would to her own meals, and perhaps she chooses to indulge in a drink or smoke of her choice after her feast, for she knows that a truly satisfying meal, or any satisfaction at all, is not possible without gluttony.
Hail Satan! Shemhamforash!
